Woman takes a photo of herself every day for a year, chronicling the affects of an abusive relationship.

This is heartbreaking. You can see the happiness and hope slip from her eyes with every shot.

tw domestic abuse

wow.

Ladies think about what you are getting yourself into when something little like a slap in the face happens. Stand your ground. You are beautiful and very fucking intelligent, and you always have a say, ALWAYS. RESPECT YOURSELF BEFORE OTHERS TAKE THAT AWAY FROM YOU.

This is a powerful video but fuck the commentary above me. Don’t ever think someone can just stand their ground against a domestic violence perpetrator. That isn’t how it works in a DV situation. And don’t let anyone tell you to “think about what you’re getting yourself into” you didn’t get yourself into fucking anything. Stand your ground? Jesus fuck that’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard. Are you trying to get women killed? I work with these women daily and despite what people say or think its almost always safer for a woman to STAY in a DV situation. A woman’s chances of being murdered by her partner go up 75% when she leaves her abuser. And it takes an average of seven times before a woman can safely and successfully leave her abuser. So please think before telling women to stand their ground and think about what they are getting themselves into. Jesus. Um also victims of DV don’t inherently lack respect for themselves. Their perpetrators lack respect for them.

What does that paper say at the end?
